Sue Hopkinson
My name is Sue and I am a member of the St Anne’s family and have been for over 8 years now.
I have been connected to St Anne’s for a considerably longer time through a work connection but when I came to Christ 8 years ago, this is when I finally felt as though I had come home.
I am a mum to thee wonderful giants Kieran Aidan and Rowan and have been married to Peter for 26 years now. We have a crazy, busy and loving family and no day is without adventure or challenge. We welcomed our first grandchild to our family in February, Willow Grace, and this has been such a wonderful and beautiful time to watch this tiny girl grow and her character develop and she is so loved by us all. We also have our fur baby Grace who is the smallest member of our crazy household but certainly has us wrapped around her tiny paw.
I work for Lancashire County Council in Children’s Services and I feel as though this has been my calling for many years now, in fact for the past 20 years. My job is hard and can be emotionally draining but I do feel as though we make a difference to the lives of children, young people and families.
My connection with St Anne’s has grown over a lot over the past fours years as a member of the PCC and more recently as part of the Leadership Team which meet on a regular basis to develop all aspects to grow our church.
My biggest contribution to church life over recent years has been via Messy Church which I have loved as this enables me to incorporate glitter, glue and paint alongside worship and stories from the bible to further my learning and journey so far.
With regards to my journey, I feel as though I have only just begun and I am excited to see where my faith takes me in the years to come.
Sue. xx
